Kanna and Walsh join the growing Minnowtech team at its Hawaii office to work on data analytics, sonar device management and outreach to aquaculture farmers

November 1, 2021, Kekaha, HI – Minnowtech, an aquaculture technology company that enables shrimp farmers to calculate shrimp abundance for optimizing feed and harvest, today announced the hiring of Nancy Kanna as Data Analyst and Connor Walsh as Research Technician to be located at the company’s Kekaha office on the island of Kauai.

Kanna, a resident of Kauai for the past 26 years, brings a varied background in government relations, communications, leadership and sales and marketing with expertise in the collection, research, analysis and interpretation of complex data sets. In her prior roles, she has worked in sales and marketing at Tropic Fish Kauai, LLC and Sunrise Capital, Inc., both in the shrimp aquaculture and in economic development industries.

At Minnowtech, Kanna will work on sonar deployment logistics, data quality control, plus will interface with farmers, managers and key stakeholders in aquaculture. Kanna earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton.

Connor Walsh, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Walsh is currently completing a Masters of Professional Science in Aquaculture at the University of Miami. This past summer, Walsh served as an Aquaculture Technology Intern with Minnowtech.

In his new role at Minnowtech, Walsh will focus on device management, sonar data analytics and aquaculture population dynamics. He’ll also focus on interfacing with farmers, managers and key aquaculture industry stakeholders.
